DESCRIPTION

Working Principle and Design

The valve controls fluid flow by moving the gate vertically between the open and closed positions. When the valve opens, the gate moves away from the flow passage to provide full bore flow.

When the valve closes, the parallel plates contact the seats and create a tight sealing surface. In addition, fluid pressure helps increase the sealing force between the gate and seat.
