How the Wafer Swing Check Valve Works
The wafer swing check valve automatically opens when forward flow pressure exceeds the cracking pressure. The single disc swings away from the valve seat, allowing fluid to pass with minimal resistance.
However, when the flow slows or reverses, the disc immediately returns to the valve seat under gravity and reverse pressure. Therefore, the valve effectively prevents backflow while reducing water hammer and protecting downstream equipment.
