GMK Bellow Seal Gate Valve reduces energy usage as well as costs associated with maintenance as a result of its reduced resistance to friction. The flow of a process fluid can be completely or partially obstructed or restricted by the use of valves. Gate valves, one of the earliest types of valves, are ideal for on/off liquid applications and are typically seen in older buildings. When a gate valve is opened, a gate that is either rectangular or circular is removed from the path that fluid takes through the valve. Because the diameter of the gate is identical to the diameter of the pipeline when the gate valve is in its fully open position, there is no limitation to the flow of fluid. In a similar fashion, the diameter of the bore is what determines the size of the valve. This full-bore architecture offers very low friction loss, which contributes to the conservation of energy and reduces the cost of ownership.
